COMMUNITY READINESS WORKSHOP!

A Comprehensive Program for Emergency Prevention, Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, & Recovery

Our Community Readiness Workshop is designed for individuals, families, small businesses, large industry, community leaders, and anyone else that wants to be prepared for emergencies and disasters.

It consists of a series of inter-active presentations and interactive activities that ultimately support all-hazard readiness.

Sessions are free and are customized to the audience, but are dependent on available staff time and operational schedule.

What the workshop covers

I. PREVENTION/MITIGATION

Why prepare? Learn about community hazards and local disaster history
Focus your efforts! Conduct a hazard / risk assessment
Understand the principles of mitigation & prevention

II. PREPAREDNESS

Alerting & Notification - Be familiar with how to get emergency alerts & information
Review your existing emergency plan OR build a basic safety plan
Learn the Planning, Training, Exercise, & Equipment method for readiness

III. RESPONSE

Learn key concepts of incident response for emergencies & disasters
Incident Command, Communications, Public Information, and other concepts

IV. RECOVERY

Principles of Continuity of Operations
Understand the reality of disaster funding & programs
Protect yourself with disaster smart insurance

Session Delivery

PUBLIC / COMMUNITY SESSIONS

Hosted within communities upon demand
Usually involve mixed group from various small agencies and families within communities

PRIVATE / FOCUSED SESSIONS

Hosted for critical / high risk agencies
Usually focused to improve resiliency of a key agency and/or sector of business

Note - The Community Readiness Workshop does not focus on Active Shooter Readiness as that is covered via our Safe/Secure Site program. Both of these programs are designed to work together to address all hazards readiness & safety.
